Who I am

East Coast Detailing, a sole trader based in Co. Wicklow, Ireland. I am the data controller for anything you send through this site. Contact details and business address to be added.

What I collect

• When you book: your name, phone number, email address, the address where the car is, your Eircode, the make and model, and anything you write in the condition box.
• Your answers to the access questions — whether there is an outdoor tap, a socket, and off-road parking.
• Payment: the deposit is handled by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach this site or me.

Why I need it

To turn up at the right house at the right time with the right equipment, to take the deposit, and to contact you if something changes. That is the contract between us, and it is the lawful basis for holding it.

Who else sees it

• Supabase stores the booking. Hosted in the EU.
• Stripe processes the deposit.
• Google Calendar holds the job so it is on my phone on the day.

Nobody buys this data from me and nobody is sent it for marketing.

How long it is kept

Booking records are kept while they are needed for the job and for tax records afterwards. Home addresses are cleared on a schedule once a booking is long finished, because there is no reason to keep a list of houses.

Your rights

Under GDPR you can ask for a copy of what I hold on you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Message me and I will sort it out. If you are unhappy with how I have handled it you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.

Photos

I photograph cars before and after. Those photos may appear on this site and on Instagram. Number plates are blurred. If your car is in the gallery and you would rather it was not, tell me and it comes down — no explanation needed.

This site does not set advertising or analytics cookies. If that changes, a consent banner will appear here first and nothing will be set until you agree to it.
